Prof.Dr. Yasemin Gürsoy-Özdemir, lise yıllarında Tübitak Bilim Adamı yetiştirme programında yer almış, Liselerarası Tübitak Kimya yarışmasında Türkiye üçüncülüğü ile ödüllendirilmiştir. 1992 yılında Hacettepe Tıp Fakültesini, 1997 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Nöroloji Anabilimdalı’ndan Nöroloji ihtisasını ve 2001 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Temel Nörolojik Bilimler doktora programından doktora derecesini almıştır. Doktora sonrası Fulbright ve IBRO (International Brain Research Organisation) bursları ile Harvard Üniversitesi Mass General Hospital’da “Stroke ve Neuroregulation” laboratuvarında postdoktoral çalışmalarını 2001-2004 yıllarında yapmıştır. Ardından Hacettepe Üniversitesi Nörolojik Bilimler ve Psikiyatri Enstitüsü ve Tıp Fakültesi Nöroloji Anabilim Dalı’nda yardımcı doçent, doçent ve profesör olarak çalışmıştır. Bu süreçte Nörolojik Bilimler ve Psikiyatri Enstitüsü’nde 5 yıl müdür yardımcısı olarak görev almıştır. 2014 yılından beri Koç Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde çalışmaktadır. Koç Üniversitesi’nde Nöroloji bölümü ve Nörobilim doktora ve master programınlarının kurulmasında ve geliştirilmesinde görev almıştır. 2017 yılından itibaren Koç Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü Müdürü olarak görev yapmaktadır.
Yasemin Gürsoy Özdemir’in Science ve Nature Medicine dergisi de dahil olmak üzere yüksek impaktlı dergilerde 73 yayını, Scopus’a göre 3700’e yakın atıfı vardır ve H indeksi 28’dir. Kendisi Tübitak Teşvik, TÜBA GEBİP, Eczacıbaşı Destek, Tübitak bilim insanı destekleme bursu, Türkiye Gazeteciler Cemiyeti Sedat Simavi Ödülü gibi pek çok ödül ve destek almıştır. Türkiye Sinirbilim Derneği Yönetim Kurulu’nda görev almaktadır. TÜBİTAK ve Avrupa Birliği Komisyonu proje başvurularında hakemlik ve YÖKAK dış değerlendirme takımlarında değerlendirici olarak görev almaktadır.

After graduating from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 1980, Prof. Mehmet Kaya completed his Ph.D. in 1989 at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology. He worked as a visiting professor in the Neurobiology laboratory of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in the USA between January 1994 – June 1996. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1991 and Professor in 1998 at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Physiology. Between 2005 and 2009, he worked as the director of Istanbul University Aziz Sancar Institute of Experimental Medicine. He also worked as the director of Istanbul University Scientific Research Fund between 2007 and 2009. In 2015, he started to work at the Department of Physiology, Koç University Faculty of Medicine. He worked as an invited researcher at the Neuroscience Research Center, the University of Nebraska for periods of two months in 2018 and 2019. He has been the Head of the Department of Physiology since 2018, and he is currently the member of many academic committees in Koç University.

Graduated from the Medical Faculty of Hacettepe University in 1987, he completed his specialization in Neurosurgery Department of Marmara University Medical School. He conducted his MA in Neuro-Oncology at the University of Washington, Department of Neurosurgery in Seattle. Between 1997 to 2006 he lectured on the subject of surgical treatment of brain tumors in University of California, San Francisco where he was a faculty member. Dr Keleş served as Vice Dean of Koç University Medicine School between October 2009 & September 2014.

Prof. Dr. Şevket Ruacan

Prof. Dr. Şevket Ruacan graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1969. He received his next stages of his education in University of Pennsylvania and New York University in biochemistry and pathology. He became an associate professor title in 1979 and in 1988 he was awarded the professor’s title. Both of these title were bestowed upon him by Haccettepe University. He served as the Head of Pathology Department, Dean of the Medical faculty, Director of Oncology Institute, and Chairman of the Ethics Committee. He also contributed his services to Council of Higher Education as well as Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK). He assumed the position of Founding Dean of the Medical Faculty of Koç University between 2009-2014. Since 2014 he is presenting lectures in Koç’s Medical Faculty as a faculty member.

Şükrü Dilege, MD, is the Dean of Koç University School of Medicine since September 2018, where he is also Professor of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Dilege served as Associate Dean of KUSOM from September 2017 to January 2018, then was appointed as Acting Dean until September 2018. He has been a faculty member since 2011.
In 2005 Dr. Dilege established together with Dr. Göksel Kalaycı the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Istanbul University Medical School.
He became professor in 2004 and served as chair in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at American Hospital beginning in 2005.
Dr. Dilege received his MD degree from Istanbul University Medical School in 1985.
Prof. Dr. Tarık Esen

Tarık Esen graduated from Medical Faculty of İstanbul University in 1984. He completed his specialization in the field of “urology” at the same university. Later in the period of 1990-93 in Heidelberg University’s Manheim Medical Faculty’s Urology Clinic, then in 1997 in Mayo Clinic, USA he carried on study and research in the area of “uro-oncology”. He was granted the title of associate Professor in 1994 by Medical Faculty of İstanbul University. The very same educational body awarded him in 2000 with “Professorate” inscription. Between 2006-2008 he served as the Chairman of Turkish Urology Association. He was also Board Member of the European Association of Urology. Prof Dr. Tarık Esen has been chairing the Urology Department of American Hospital since 2002. Apart from all he has been a member of Koç’s medical faculty since 2011.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demirhan

Mehmet Demirhan graduated from the Medical Faculty of İstanbul University. He went on specialize in the same University in the field of “orthopedics and – traumatology” then he obtained a scholarship by “German Academic Exchange service” which arranged for him to continue his post graduate studies in Heidelberg University Medical Faculty’s Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic. Back from Germany, he started to work as a specialist in İstanbul University Medical Faculty’s Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic in 1992. Between 1994-95 he did a research fellowship in sports traumatology in University of Pittsburgh, USA. He became an associated professor in 1996 and a professor in 2001 from Istanbul University. Prof. Dr. Demirhan has chaired the American Hospital’s Traumatology and Orthopedic Department since 2011.

Prof. Dr. İhsan Solaroğlu

Prof. Dr. İhsan Solaroğlu, 1971 yılında Eskişehir’de doğdu. 1989’da Süleyman Çakır Lisesi’nden, 1996’da Osmangazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. Nöroşirürji ihtisasını 2003’de Ankara Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde tamamladı. 2004-2005 yıllarında Loma Linda Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi (ABD) ileri nörolojik bilimler araştırma laboratuarında davetli araştırmacı olarak bulundu. 2008 yılında Nöroşirürji Doçenti ünvanını, 2013 yılında Nöroşirürji Profesörlüğü ünvanını aldı. Nisan 2011’den itibaren Amerikan Hastanesi ve Koç Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde, aynı zamanda 2012 yılından itibaren Loma Linda Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde görev yapmaktadır.
Prof. Dr. Barış Ata

Prof. Dr. Barış Ata, 1974 yılında Ankara’da doğdu. 1992’de Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi’nden, 1998’de İstanbul (Çapa) Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum ihtisasını 2003’de Bezm-i Alem Eğitim Hastanesi’nde tamamladı. Üremeye Yardımcı Teknoloji sertifikasyonunu 2006’da Amerikan Hastanesinde, Üreme Endokrinolojisi ve İnfertilite üst ihtisasını 2008 – 2011 yıllarında McGill University, Montreal, Kanada’da yaptı. 2010 yılında London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’da Klinik Araştırma Master Derecesi aldı. 2011’de yurda döndükten sonra 3 yıl Uludağ Üniversitesi Tüp Bebek Merkezi Direktörü olarak çalıştı. Temmuz 2014’ten itibaren Koç Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde öğretim görevlisidir. Hasta bakımı ve akademik çalışmaları için çeşitli kuruluşlarca ödüllendirilen Dr. Barış Ata alanıda uluslararası derneklerde yöneticilik ve uluslarası dergilerde editörlük görevlerini sürdürmektedir.
