Koç University School of Medicine

Our medical school was set up to bring different perspectives and diverse ideas to medical education in Türkiye. We prioritize research, discovery, and service to public health. Our outstanding teaching staff also aims to meet universal standards of education and health by training tomorrow’s leaders in medical science.

The clinical teaching portion of our course, which covers the first three years of medical education, was carried out at the Rumelifeneri Campus and currently is currently being carried out at Koç University Training and Research Hospital, which was launched in September 2014. The Health Sciences Campus (which covers an area of approximately 220,000 m2) is comprised of the medical school, nursing school, research labs, and Advanced Learning Center. The Health Sciences Campus intends to contribute to the supply of qualified professionals in the health sector with its innovative approach and dynamic team according to North American standards.

60 students, including 14 on full scholarship and 46 on half scholarship, are enrolled in our department, which is accepted as one of the top-ranked universities by students who excel at the Transition to Higher Education exam held in in Türkiye on their first attempts.

One of the most important advantages of providing medical training with a small class size is the high ratio of faculty members to each student. This advantage provides students the privilege to participate actively in scientific research and clinical studies in the field they want from the beginning of their education. Presenting the results of their research at international scientific congresses allows students the opportunity to meet the world of science early on. Therefore, students of Koç University Medical School graduate as researchers and physicians who follow and apply these innovations.

Koç University Medical School also aims to train professionally qualified physicians. Our remarkable results in both TUS (Examination for Specialty in Medicine) and USMLE (The United States Medical Licensing Examination) taken by our graduates are a remarkable indicator of success achieved by our prominent and brilliant teaching staff and students.
