BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF STUDENT ACTIVITIES:
Dear Students,
The scope of emergency medicine is extremely broad; it covers the care of the neonate through the geriatric, surgical, and madical patients and encompasses all organ systems. Emergeny Medicine is rapidly evolving to reflect our increasing experience, knowledge and research. Procedural skills must supplement our cognitive skills. Achieving proficiency in procedural skills is essential for the daily practice of Emergency Medicine.
We prepared essential procedures in emergency medicine elective program. This program will be held twice a year and will take 4 weeks and a maximum of 5 students will be accepted. Group II can do their MELC 503. Group I can do their MELC 505. Program instructors are Can Aktaş, Ulufer Sivrikaya, Evren Şentürk, Gökhan Gönenli, Eda Ars, Yusuf Koksal, İlker Eren.
The primary of this program is to provide a detailed, step-by-step approach to procedures performed in the Emergency Department. The objectives for each procedure include learning the indications, contraindications, equipment, technique, complications, sites, post procedure follow up and pearls needed to perform the procedures competently.
